Illex squid low supply causes high price.
According to statistics from the Argentine Ministry of Agriculture, Argentina's squid production in the first two months of 2023 was 42,796 tons, a decrease of 7% year-on-year and a new low in the last five years.
At the beginning of 2023, 300-400 grams of Argentine squid rose to CNY 27,000-27,750/ton, and the price during the Boston exhibition was CNY 27,400/ton, down from the peak of CNY 37,000/ton at the beginning of 2020.
